1st's...

Yesterday I tied my own shoes for the first time in 7 years.. And today I figured out how to make an animation using, InDesign. The learning curve is back.
(UpDate) I screwed up..... The animation was done using, Image Ready, not InDesign.

Again, great news about your improving health, Ric.

I've only used InDesign a few times. I didn't upgrade to Quark, but got the Creative Suite instead. I feel like I'm starting from scratch, learning InDesign... guess I'll get used to it eventually.

A little background to make the, "shoe tying" more understandable. In 1996 I was injured on the job.. Minor, really. The treatment they decided to give me is a very dangerous drug, (Steroids) and this they spinal-tapped into my spine at the base of my neck. Turns out that I hit a 1 in 7,000,000 chance of my body rejecting the drug, and it did, thus changing my life forever.

I was a construction worker, 6 foot seven inches tall and 225 pounds. The Steroids added, 135 pounds to my weight in 5 months. Gave me a disease called, "Osteonecrosis," which in turn has killed some joints in my right side.. starting with my right inner ear, mouth down to my right hip and in my lower back.

It has taken me 7 years to get enough weight off that I can tie my own shoes again.

My goal weight is 280 and I am on my way there and beyond, through diet and exercise.

So, now you know.

Eddie.. I HATED Quark.. and those gawd damned Tabs. I've been a Photoshop since school. Dabbled in Illustrator but didn't care for it either. Now I find I am using it, every now and again. Go figure.

I was just spewing out a bunch of negative energy into a SpyMac forum about what I was doing to keep myself sane during the downtime.

Then I remembered this was here.

{{{Big Guy}}} Congrats. You know I read the entire saga way back when we first met on SM. Yours is no small achievement, dear. Thanks for being a constant source of inspiration and a perpetual reminder that perseverance (or just plain stubbornness in some cases) can reap rewards.

Eddie and Wep are readers here, too? Coolios!!! Hey, guys- miss you both!

Wow, i hope you can get better and better Ric.
I didnt know about this whole history. When i first went to spymac i was not so worried about the ppl, it was all for fun. After that I've made some good friends and some of then made me think that it didnt worth it since they just decided to go away without any explanation or leaving another contact option...
After being away from spymac for two weeks (my record) I went back and started worring more about ppl then the threads, or being popular, ou getting "promotions" whatever... Now I know some ppl better, and I know that it worth it. Some of the best ppl I could meet there I can see here in the blogspot (specialy at your blog!).
Perhaps its my new place??

BB.
